Overview of Dealer Certification
Dealer license is applicable to a person or company involved in the trade and marketing of weight and remedies. There is a provision to grant a dealer license under the Legal Metrology Implementation Rules, 1 of the State Legal Metrobility (Implementation) Rule 2.
If the importer/manufacturer wants to work as a seller of equipment, he/she must also get a dealer license in addition to the importer/manufacturer’s license.
According to the Schedule -III, the LD -1 is an application for a license as a dealer in weight and solutions. The Schedule -IIB form is an application for renewal of LD -2 dealer license. The license is approved in the Scheduled III per LD -3 AS form.
Getting a dealer license varies from the state to the state. Different states have different application fees and different timeline for licensing approval. The validity of the license is at least five years maximum.
If a dealer wants to trade and market weight and market in more than one state, he/she will have to get a separate dealer license for every desired operation.
