Overview of Arms License
The applicant should not have any past records of any kind of criminal activity. An interview will be conducted with the applicant to check if the person is mentally or physically ill or not.
Eligibility criteria for Arms License in India
- Every manufacturer – Indian company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013);
- Company is a resident Indian. The management of the applicant company is in Indian hands with majority representation on the Board excluding nominee or independent directors except.
- In respect of a company having Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) beyond forty nine percent.
- Every individual, sports individual & institution applying for a fresh arms license for the license on FORM II, III & IV under A1/ A3 as per schedule III of Arms Rules 2016.
- Every individual, sports individual & institution applying for renewal of arms license for the license on FORM II, III, IV & V under A2/ A4 as per schedule III of Arms Rules 2016.
- Every individual/ firm applying for fresh arms dealer license for the license on FORM VIII & VIII A under A6 as per schedule III of Arms Rules 2016.
Documents required to obtain an Arms License
- Copy of proof of residence (ration card).
- Voter identification.
- 3 income tax return/salary slip
- Proof of educational qualifications( self-attested)
- Physical –fitness certificate
- Proof of birth(birth certificate/school leaving certificate)
- Supporting documents to justify the need for an arms license(FIR report/sports certificate etc.)
